Lester Ibanez is an award-winning National Geographic photographer and a highly acclaimed best-selling novelist based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Well, NOT YET! I do live in Dubai though. But I'm just a simple guy who finds joy in the smallest pleasures of life like writing a book at 2 AM with the lovely noise of my three snoring pugs drowned in a relaxing Gregorian instrumental music, a hot cup of organic green tea and the stimulating fragrance of scented candles. This setup never fails to extract my creative juices, especially when I have to write something about me.

I am a nursing graduate from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines, Batch 2008, licensed in my home country and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where I practiced the profession for 2 years at Dr. Bakhsh Hospital Group. I moved to Dubai in 2011, started from scratch and took advantage of my people skills to secure an HR and Admin Assistant post for Gulf Computers, an IT outsourcing company. This propelled me to build a career in the Human Resources and Recruitment industry, where I had interviewed and filled positions for various sectors, from C-level/top management executives to white/blue collar workers, all across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

In June 2015, I began to pursue my passion for photography. I got my own equipment, read/watched internet tutorials and travelled to nearby countries to gain actual field experience. I love taking pictures of people - from my favorite celebrities on and off the stage, to my friends getting married, to random strangers I meet in foreign lands. A memorable shot, either a portrait or candid, is a testament of both the photographer’s technical and people skills. My combined background in nursing and recruitment has made me fearless in openly approaching anyone, in fostering long-lasting relationships and in getting into the single biggest investment one can make in a lifetime - investing your life deep into the lives of others.

Fast forward to 2019, I now work as an Operations Manager for GEEKS (www.geeks.ae). Listed as one of Forbes most promising UAE startups in 2016, we offer on-demand tech support and managed IT services. My present home address is in Jumeirah Lake Towers, just a 10-minute walk away from my office, which gives me a lot of time to chase and accomplish my ambitious dreams.
